Description

GDOT proposes to widen SR 5 from just north of SR 515 up to Old Flowers Road in Fannin County in three separate projects. PI #0017040 is Phase III of this project and proposes to widen the existing SR 5 – beginning just north of the intersection with SR 2/SR 515 in Blue Ridge and ending at Pineview Lane. Phase I and Phase II of the overall SR 5 widening/reconstruction project are included in PI #0017038 and #0017039, respectively.

PI #0017040 is the portion of the overall project that proposes to widen SR 5 to four (4) lanes (12-foot outside lane & 11-foot inside lane) with a 14- foot center turn lane. Outside shoulders would be 10-foot wide with rural and urban shoulders (6.5 feet of paved shoulder including a 4-foot, 2- inch bike lane). This phase of the project also proposes upgrades to the Progress Circle traffic signal.
